Who (or what) is Cyclemeisters?

Cyclemeisters is a bicycle racing club with a goal of promoting and supporting road, mountain, track and cyclocross athletes and racing in Alberta, focusing on junior development but maintaining a wide roster of athletes of all ages.

Which cycling disciplines are supported?

Cyclemeisters supports road, track, mountain bike and cyclocross athletes.

While we have members participating in alternate formats, the club does not directly support downhill MTB, enduro, gran fondo, BMX or triathletes.

What’s expected of a member?

Club members are required to wear their club kit loud and proud for all ABA races and in any other event supported by Cyclemeisters.

At all times, members are expected to honour and respectfully represent the club, our sponsors and the sport of cycling with good sportsmanship, safe riding and a welcoming atmosphere. This expectation extends to social media and virtual riding.

Meanwhile, while riding (training, racing or recreationally), obey the rules of the road, practice safe riding and common courtesy so you don’t bring yourself, the sport, the club or our sponsors into disrepute.

All members are required to volunteer in support of the club. Failure to meet volunteer commitments may result in expulsion from the club and/or suspension of reimbursements.

When is registration?

Club registration takes place annually in the early spring.

Returning club members in good standing have the first opportunity to register and if spots are remain after returning member signup is complete, registration will open to prospective new members.

I’m new (or I missed registration), now what?

If you are interested in becoming part of the club, please send us a note via our contact page to be notified when/if spots become available.

Do I have to become an ABA member?

Yes. If you intend on coming on Cyclemeister group rides and/or participating in ABA-sanctioned racing, you will need to acquire an ABA membership for ride insurance coverage.
